Travel
Bern can be reached by train or by plane.
By train
The city of Bern is centrally located in Europe and well-connected in the international railway system. By passing through the cities of Basel or Zurich, Bern can be reached comfortably from various cities in Europe and especially form Germany and Austria.
If there is no direct connection to Bern, we recommend to attendees from Germany to take the train to Basel, Badischer Bahnhof, and pass through to Basel SBB. From Basel, there are direct connections to Bern, leaving half-hourly and taking about one hour of travel.
To attendees from Austria, we recommend to take the train to Zurich HB, and take the train to Bern from there. The direct connections leave half-hourly as well, and travel takes about one hour.

By car
We do not recommend to travel by car, as there is limited parking space in Bern, and the parking is quite costly. Furthermore, many areas of the city are car-free. Bern has an extensive public transport system consisting of trains, busses and trams, and every part of the city is easily reachable using these transportation methods.
